Our doctors bring an enthusiastic approach to treatment and our staff strives to make each and every patient feel comfortable. We are thrilled to be expanding the Cavalancia Orthodontic family and so excited to be in the Johnstown area!
Dr. Jeffrey Cavalancia
Following undergraduate studies at Saint Vincent College, Dr. Jeffrey Cavalancia received his D.D.S. Degree in 1983 from Case Western Reserve University Dental School in Cleveland, Ohio. In 1985, upon completion of post graduate orthodontic specialty training at C.W.R.U., he was awarded a Masters of Science Degree in Dentistry.
Dr. Cavalancia is active in many professional organizations, including the Indiana County Dental Society, the Western Pennsylvania Society of Orthodontists, the Pennsylvania Society of Orthodontists, the Great Lakes Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, and the American Association of Orthodontists. He remains current as a specialist in orthodontics by attending various workshops and conferences sponsored by these organizations.
Jeff and his wife, Judy, an IUP alumna, are both graduates of Blairsville High School. They are the parents of three children, James, Carmen and Desiree'. As residents of Indiana, their community ties are evidenced by their active support of area schools and many local charity organizations.
Dr. James Cavalancia
Dr. James Cavalancia is an Indiana native, who received his Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from Washington and Jefferson College. He continued his education at Temple University where he received his DMD degree as well as a Master's degree in Oral Biology and a specialty in Orthodontics.
He is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists. He loves the outdoors and enjoys skiing, hiking, and biking. He has a background in the Arts and enjoys painting and drawing as well.
Dr. Kaitlyn Cavalancia
Dr. Kaitlyn Cavalancia received her Bachelor's degree in Biology from The College of New Jersey and her DMD degree from Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. She obtained her Master's degree in Oral Biology and a specialty in Orthodontics at Temple University, where she met Dr. James Cavalancia. Dr. Cavalancia is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists. She is an avid reader and in her spare time she enjoys running, kickboxing classes, and is in the process of writing her first book.
Jess Pennington
Administrative Assistant
Jess joined the practice in 2023. She was previously an office manager for a general dentist for 22 years. She also served in the Army Reserves for eight years. She resides in Marion Center with her husband, frank. Together they have six children and five grandchildren whom she loves to spend her spare time with.
Mary
Administrative Assistant
Mary celebrates 25 years with the practice in September 2023. Over the years, she has taken multiple continuing education classes to assist her with her job as an administrative assistant. She enjoys working with people and believes in providing the best customer service possible. Mary resides in Clymer, PA. In her free time, she enjoys camping, outdoor activities, and spending time with her two granddaughters.
Susan
Orthodontic Assistant
Susan has been with the practice since 2010. She is an orthodontic assistant and works in the lab fabricating retainers. Susan resides in Indiana with her husband Andrew. She has two adult daughters. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking with her 2 dogs, traveling, and spending time with her family.
Kelly
Orthodontic Assistant
Kelly began assisting at Cavalancia Orthodontics in 2017. She previously worked for a general dentist for 13 years. Kelly resides in Indiana with her husband, Kerry, and her son Karter.
Audrey
Administrative Assistant
Audrey joined the office staff in 2019. She travels between the Indiana and Johnstown locations providing customer service to our patients and their families. Audrey is a native of Indiana and still resides there with her husband, Albert, and her beagle, Bella. When not at either office, Audrey enjoys spending time with her family and friends, baking, and taking Bella for walks. She also enjoys traveling to Texas whenever possible to visit her daughter, son-in-law, and three grandchildren.
Kayla
Orthodontic Assistant
Kayla splits her time as an assistant between the Indiana and Johnstown locations. She began working at the practice in 2022. Kayla lives in Indiana with her husband, Shamar, and their two children, Avianna and Alijah. In her spare time, Kayla enjoys taking walks and spending quality time with her family.
